Outdoor Rec

Things to do outside at Ridge Point Church

We believe that God designed the outdoors to be fun—and the grounds at Ridge Point Church is a great place to experience outdoor recreation with other believers. From pickleball to playgrounds, we’re equipped for a great time.

Activities Available

Ridge Point’s 165 acres of grounds are right along the Macatawa River, meaning that options for outdoor activities are nearly limitless. Here are some highlights.

Special Landmarks

Farm on the Ridge

In partnership with Kids’ Food Basket, this farm will grow produce that will go directly back to the community and help increase access to healthy food for residents of Ottawa and Allegan counties.

Pickleball

The game of pickleball has become all the rage in recent years and for good reason. As an accessible game that can be played on smaller courts, pickleball is great exercise, great fun, and a great way to play a game and get some laughs in with others. Ridge Point’s pickleball court is right next to the basketball court, to the south, just off to the right of the upper level parking area.

Basketball

Ridge Point features a full-sized basketball court ready for you to practice your jump shot. With adjustable hoops and a basketball court adjacent to our pickleball courts, we share a love of the game of basketball with our community. Our basketball court is located directly south on the facility, just to the right of the upper level parking lot.

Hiking, Walking, & Mountain Bike Trails

Ridge Point rests on 165 acres of property along the Macatawa River, meaning that the natural beauty is spectacular. Take advantage of this outdoor gem with trails for hiking, walking, and mountain biking.

Disc Golf Course

Get your game on with disc golf. The Ridge Point disc golf course is a full 18-hole course ready to play. Throughout the year, various pickup games and leagues get together to play disc golf and spend time in community. A great way to have fun and get some exercise, we’re excited to share this sport with our church body and with the West Michigan community.

Ampitheater

Used for outdoor concerts or services, the Ridge Point ampitheater gives the community an opportunity to have all the fun and adulation of a worship night or live music event, with the added benefit of being outdoors in the midst of God’s creation.

The Ampitheater can be found on the hill on the southeast side of the Ridge Point building, in between the basketball courts and playground.

Outdoor Fire Pit

A perfect place to connect with others and enjoy a warm fire on a cold Michigan day, Ridge Point’s outdoor fire pit is found on the lower level on the south diagonal of the Ridge Point facility right outside door “A.” The outdoor fire pit is used regularly for small groups or larger events as a place to break off and have conversations close to the warm glow of a crackling fire.

Natural Playscape

For kids (or adults) who want a rugged athletic playground experience, Ridge Point’s natural playscape provides an earthy forest aesthetic to playful exercise. To the east, accessible via a path from the lower level parking lots or the sidewalk around the building, the natural playscape provides a sense of adventure.

Playground

Featuring a sturdy and stylish wooden construction with a variety of exciting obstacles, the playground is built for fun. A perfect place for kids to enjoy fun, games, and exercise, the Ridge Point playground features four slides, endless obstacles to climb, and soft rubber ground.

The playground is found on the lower level of Ridge Point’s campus and features a fenced-in design to keep younger kids safely within range of their parents or church group.
